Our newest publication offers a promising addition to the toolbox of bioorthogonal reactions in chemical biology! We present a cascade reaction between N-allylglyoxylamide and N-alkylhydroxylamine, catalyzed by 5-methoxyanthranilic acid, combining the reactivity of nitrones with the simplicity of aldehydes, demonstrating bioorthogonality in complex cell lysates and on the surface of HEK293 cells. https://doi.org/10.1021/acs.bioconjchem.3c00463
