Layla is a third-year undergraduate Environmental Chemistry major at the University of Toronto. In the Murphy group, she analyzes NO2 and SO2 emissions from a Mississauga cement plant and its effects on the surrounding community. Layla also researches petrochemical pollution on Indigenous land at Chemical Valley as part of the Environmental Data Justice Lab at the Technoscience Research Unit. She loves writing, biking, mangoes, and Palestine.
