Abstract:

We compare the probability of I2 recombination calculated from two stochastic models: the Fokker-Planck and BGK equations. When a Spatial criterion describes reaction, the two theories agree, even when neither is equivalent to the Smoluchowski equation. When an energy criterion is used, the behaviour of the two models is different. © 1981.
