Abstract | Perfluoroaryl-substituted tellurophenes act as anion receptors through noncovalent chalcogen bonding interactions. Linking two tellurophenes through an ethynylene group results in a significant level of chelate cooperativity, thus demonstrating that chalcogen bonding can be used to achieve multidentate anion recognition. |
